We went to Skye at the weekend, 6 hours in the car! All I can say is thank goodness for Nintendos. Lauren and I went for a 2 hour pony treck and boy was I sore the next day, but it was fab, the weather was lovely and we went right up into the hills, the views were amazing!

We went for a nice walk round Portree which ended with ice cream at the pier - yummy!!

Being Busy

Another busy few days, this morning kids and I did our daily trip to the Post Office with all the orders, then out to get MIL a birthday pres. We got her a lovely photo frame so will need to print a pic of the kids to go in it.

Also spent some time finalising May and June's ribbon kit. May's is looking v scrummy, and so is June's, you will just have to wait and see!

This afternoon we watched Neighbours and then I did some school work with Lauren, took dogs for a walk and then the kids went out to play.

............... Sleeping Sickness, OMG I am so knackered.
Normally I am fine on 6-7 hours sleep, but recently have been having 9 hours or so and am just so tired, think I need to take some vitamins

Kids are away at mums for a couple of days, so tomorrow I am ................ wait for it..................................... Stocktaking, sounds like fun eh? errrr not.

Yesterday I went for a riding lesson at the stables that DD goes to, she joined me, and we had a great time. I used to love going when I was wee, and have been meaning to get back to it.

Knackered!

Gordon was sick yesterday afternoon and went to bed early, all well and good.......................
4 this morning............ yip up being sick again, so today I have mostly sat with a small child on my knee who needed big cuddles.
We managed to get him to go for a little sleep, but I am sooooo tired I can hardly think straight.
I think I will be in bed straight after dinner
We were going to see my mum today as it is her birthday but will go tomorrow as the kids are now off for 2 weeks.

What else have I been doing? oh yes, we booked our summer holiday, OMG cannot wait, back to Feurteventura again, the kids loved it last time. We are going to a different hotel this time.

Being Busy

Today I finished off a Layout I started a couple of weeks ago, I have used Scenic Route Lynden papers (wow don't you just love these?) which are reduced on my site until next Saturday (along with loads of other goodies)and ribbons from the April ribbon kit, along with stickles and Pearls.

Our ribbon kit is available with and without a subscription and is Post free and is fantastic value!!!!

Then I made a card, using the scraps from the LO and more goodies from the ribbon kit, I am quite peased with it and hope my mum will like it too (it is her birthday tomorrow)



Am feeling down today as it would have been grampa's birthday today, still cannot believe he is not with us anymore
Lauren has been unwell this week and today Gordon was sick, oh well hopefully they are OK now as they are now off school for 2 weeks

RIP Papa Toe

A couple of weeks ago, my grampa passed away. He was told about 6 weeks before that his heart was starting to fail and a few days after was admitted to hospital. I asked the nurses if I could visit in the morning as I needed to pick the kids up at 3 and could not guarantee that I would be there for 7 with the M8 being as busy as it is. They were fine with this and I went in twice a week to see him, it was nice being just the 2 of us, and we would chat away.
He started to fail fast and one Sunday at 6am we had a call to say to expect the worse, we took the kids in to say bye, sadly he lost his fight on the Thursday. This was the day before the retreat, and my grampa would have wanted me to go, but it was so hard to do so.
I could not tell the kids before I left what had happened so left the retreat early and drove home to tell them, my wee girl was devastated as she was very close to him. The funeral was the following thursday and I did a reading, it was a Humanist service, and was really lovely, Lauren sobbed all the way through. She is still very upset.

So why papa toe???
When Lauren was wee, she had to differenciate between her Papa's , my dad became papa Terry, her daddy's dad became Old Papa, and my grampa who had had a big toe removed became papa no toe, shortened to Papa Toe, he has a friend called Robert who has a wooden leg, so yip he is Robert Leg!!!

We also had more bad news the day after the funeral, my husband's cousin had sadly lost his fight agains cancer, he was 41 and leaves 2 wee kids. The funeral is tomorrow.

We are both devastated by both deaths, but we have each other and our kids to rely on.

Anyway I promise that I will try to keep this blog updated more, and later on will post a pic of the scrummy new ribbon kit we have coming soon

Being busy

Yip that's been me! what with packing orders, ordering more stash lol, got an email from my favourite company last night saying that their new products were available to order!!! At last, I have been waiting for ages and my stocks are running seriously low, so watch this space for new Hambly!!!!

Sophie is still loving her new food and eating like a wee pig, however we have noticed no change in her, she is still her mad little self. She escaped (again) the other day and walked straight into our neighbours house!!

Camera club is back on again tonight so am going to that.

Little Sophie

Hamish and I took Sophie to the Glasgow vet school on Monday, and they confirmed that with the results of the blood test, there is something wrong with her liver.
We have a number of options
1. Leave well alone- she is not unwell and the fact that she is now fully grown and has had no problems, is a very good sign. However we won't be able to get her done and if she has problems later on, it may be too late.
2, Get a liver scan, she will need a GA, and because she is so tiny, it may not show anything
3. After the scan get a liver bi-opsy and they will inject die to the blood vessels and watch what happens

It just seems such a lot to put her through, in the meantime she is on a special diet, has anti-biotics and a mild laxative so toxins are not staying in her body too long
The vet thinks she may have a liver shunt and with this diet we should see a difference in 3 weeks. The food is very bland and we may have a problem with her eating it - errrr no she has scoffed it!!


What else have I been doing? Packing orders, looking after the kids, and wooo hoo I have a cleaner starting next week!!!
Have you seen the Rouge De Garance papers we have in stock, very yummy.
We also had a load of Australian mags arrive yesterday, and they are flying out the door already.

Not good news

Had a call from the vet today with the results of Sophie's second blood test, and her liver function test was 500 times higher than normal.
The vet had been onto the vet school and they wonder if the blood vessels to her liver have not formed properly and that could account for the fact that 1. she is so tiny and 2. that she has always had a dodgy tummy.

The vet has referred us to the Glasgow vet school and we have an appointment on Monday, they will give her a liver scan and we will take it from there.

Poor wee Sophie

Today my little dog went in to be spayed. At the vet I was offered a blood test to make sure everything was OK, sixth sence made me say yes.
I came home and the vet rang to say that there were a couple of abnormalities in her liver function test, they could not continue with the operation and she had to have another blood test.

Now we have to wait 2 days for the results, am hoping it has just been a blip.

Baby starts school

Yesterday my little boy started school and he loves it!!!

Today he came home saying that he likes school and his teacher is great!!

What a bad blogger I am !!!!

Well we came back from holiday a week ago and we had a fab time, but the tans are fading fast, since then I have been busy packing orders and ordering even more stash! Our stocks of Basic Grey arrived today and are going fast and we have some scrummy bazzill shades in stock. Hopefully the Bind-it-alls will be here next week along with the new BAMPOP! collections.
This week we have also received the Cherry Artes Poolside papers and some yummy papers from Stemma, both of these are perfect for your holiday pics.
